• Milking Interval and Other Sheep Research Projects at the University of Wisconsin-Madison – 2014 – David L. Thomas, Russell L. Burgett, Hannah Stellrecht, Todd A. Taylor, Tom W. Murphy, M.J. Maroney, and K.M. Nelson, University of Wisconsin-Madison.  A presentation on the optimal milking intervals for dairy sheep that looks at the results of studies testing 16-hour milking intervals starting at mid-lactation and three times daily milking in early lactation.  The presentation then goes over research projects on sheep diseases, including CL and OPP, and their testing and treatment.

• Ventilation for Dairy Sheep – 2013 – Robert Chambers.  A presentation on how to create proper ventilation in a dairy sheep barn in order to keep them in their thermoneutral zone with the goal of increasing flock productivity.  It also goes over the different effects of cold and heat stress on the animals.

• MASTITIS IN DAIRY SHEEP - 2010 -  Pamela L. Ruegg, DVM, MPVM, Department of Dairy Science, University of Wisconsin-Madison. Introduction to defining, recognizing and testing for mastitis in sheep.

• BEHAVIORAL FACTORS INFLUENCING DRY MATTER INTAKE IN PASTURE SYSTEMS - 2009 - Dr. Darrell L. Emmick, NY State Grazing Land Management Specialist. Interesting article on behavior-based grazing management and why animals choose what, why and when to eat.  

• OVINE MASTITIS: OVERVIEW OF THE DISEASE AND A GUIDE TO ITS CONTROL - 2007 - G.C. Fthenakis* and I.A. Fragkou, Veterinary Faculty, University of Thessaly,, Karditsa, Greece. Good general overview of Mastitis, including clinical and sub-clinical,  and how to control it.  

• OVINE PROGRESSIVE PNEUMONIA AND CASEOUS LYMPHADENITIS – YOUCAN RAISE SHEEP WITHOUT THEM - 2006 - Holly Neaton, DVM

  Intensive presentation of symptoms, treatments and historical data regarding Ovine Progressive Pneumonia  (OPP) and Caseous Lymphadentis (CL)

• STRATEGIC CONTROL OF GASTRO-INTESTINAL PARASITES IN SHEEP - 2006 - D.H.Bliss, Ph.D., Veterinary Parasitologist. Intensive Presentation of gastro-intestinal parasites commonly found in sheep including barber pole worm, liver flukes, etc.   Discussion includes diagnosis, control strategies and timing of treatment protocols

• Maximizing production on pasture - 2005 - Major. David Major details his pasture systems for maximizing the health, quality, and production of the farm and its products. He addresses milking ewe management, lamb management, pasture health and production, sheep health and production, and product quality.

• Residues in milk after the use of health treatments - 2004 - Neeser. Dr Neeser defines residues, why they matter, extralabel use, testing for residues, and risk management.

• Control of Listeria monocytogenes in sheep farming and dairy processing - 2003 - Boor. L. monocytogenes can cause serious human and animal disease and human cases have linked to soft cheeses. It is often present in farm and milk and cheese-processing environments, so it is important to have stepsin place to manage it. The authors review listeriosis in humans and animals and the presence of L. monocytogenes in foods and processing environments.

• Nutrition of the Dairy Ewe - 1996 - Cannas - Academic study of nutritional needs of lactating ewes as compared to cows, on pasture and in containment systems.  Also discusses how components indicate nutritional levels.
